The 112th Lancers came from the noble houses of Korvin whom fought against Tau expansion into the system by manipulation of trade and information brokering. While many of these Noble Houses were toppled in their attempts their progeny lived on to form brigades of mounted Calvary that became a symbol of Korvin's refusal to acknowledge Tau control of the core planets. While many of the original brigades fell in combat against the war machines of the Tau empire their legacies lived on through the training of such elements such as the Havens Guard of the 22nd(c). Mostly of Cadian stock with few Catachan members the Havens Guard were formed to meet the need of highly mobile heavy troops on the battlefield when conventional vehicles such as chimera were not available. As their skills were honed along with veteran status the Havens Guard adopted the use of lances with shaped explosive charges, chain and power weapons and other unconventional mounted weapons. The Haven's Guards own commander Captain Rook carries a plasma pistol from his days as a line officer in the old 22nd and a power sword in his augmented arm.

The Havens Guard adorn themselves with traditional Cadian gear, armored spats, trousers, and flak armor are common, those who were trained by the original Lancers wear ornate shoulder armor gifted to them by their noble mentors, all members of the company wear the ornate heavy war helms of the 112th, some with red plums of feathers an odd eccentricity allowed by Colonel Pike and high command. Members of the Haven's Guard are also afforded special grooming standards in recognition of their noble origins, men of the Havens Guard rarely shave leaving them with full long beards in accordance with Korvin Military traditions.

When on parade the Havens Guard always forms the vanguard leading the regiment in presentation followed by the Regimental colors and command company, General Clare always amused with the eccentric behavior of his Cadian brethren uses them when parading for High Command, something the men of Havens Guard seem to enjoy not to mention the special R&R privileges such service affords.

While the Havens Gaurd has only been in service for a short while their utility in combat has afforded the 22nd(c) advantages other regiments seem to lack and a shock value to xenos enemies at the sight of a line of Calvary bearing down on them in combat.

New Regiment Fluff, Introducting the Cadian 22nd(c)

The 22nd Cadian Fusiliers is a consolidated Regiment made up primarily of Cadian ancestry with support elements of Catachan acting as light troops, and light Calvary. The Regiment often supports an array of chimera transport, Battle Tanks, Artillery, Sentinel Scouts, and heavy weapon platoons but due to the nature of a consolidated regiment availability between theaters of conflict do not ensure the operational status of such fighting vehicles of the Imperium.

The 22nd's History began shortly after the first Ethereal conflict campaign where the Tau Empire launched an invasion on Sub Sector Atherton, Colonel Loveless in command. The 22nd was among a small armada of transport vessels sent to the sector to reinforce the local planetary defense forces The army group under the command of General Clare was split into three prongs and sent to the sectors three planets. The 22nd was sent to Korvin, upon arrival it had engaged two Tau regiments which resulted in the first engagement the Tau retreated but came back for a second clash which resulted in both forces taking tremendous casualties. The Regiment now at three quarter strength was then sent to provide relief for a Catachan scouting brigade which had been battling Tau path finders ahead of the main advance in the Korvin jungle region. When the 22nd arrived they found that only three hundred of them survived but they had beaten back three Tau offensives with out the aide of heavy troops or mechanized units. The newly combined force then weathered three more assaults until the main body relieved the Cadians and Catachans. The Cadians were now down to two thirds their original number and the Catachans had lost over a hundred and fifty more men. The Catachans highest ranking soldier was a lieutenant Valden, General Clare ordered the 22nd absorb the Catachan forces, with the Lieutenant being promoted to captain in command of the Catachan forces under Major Pike, the regimental combat teams commanding officer. Also at this time to ensure smooth integration Commissars were assigned to the Regiment to ensure cooperation between the Cadians and Catachan. The next three months saw only a dozen summery executions for misconduct, most of which were attributed to failure to adhere to orders given by a superior officer and murder, once the commissariat weeded out the bad elements the regiment became more harmonious.

Joined by a Regiment of rough riders the 22nd(c) was assigned to pacification of former human townships which were aiding the Tau empire in the war efforts. In a span of two weeks the regiments fought 26 engagements with minimal casualties. It was during this time that many of the Cadians learned horsemen ship from the temporarily assigned rough riders who would later form the Havens Guard commanded by Captain Rook.

Two years into the Campaign the former Line company of shock troops were now a very diversified regiment with light, heavy and Calvary troops. General Clare assigned the 60th Storm Trooper Company during the assault of Korvin's Capitol spire. Over twelve regiments took part in the assault with the 22nd(c) held in reserves for the first week of combat. On the 8th day General Clare ordered the 22nd(c) to the front with the orders to attack attack attack! General Clare ordered the 22nd(c) along with three other regiments to weakened positions along the Tau primary defense line in hopes that the fresh regiments could bolster forces already engaged and give them some much needed relief. Utilizing the Catachan light company as skirmishers Col. Loveless issued them orders to probe the enemy defenses and strength. To the Catachan credit they did just that and were able to even penetrate sections of the Tau line and set demolition charges which would later be detonated during the regiments main push a few days later. With the Catachans in the rear of the regiment recuperating from the last few days action, the Colonel Ordered Major Pike and his combat companies into uniformed positions ready to assault the weakened sections of the lines with the storm trooper and Calvary companies in reserve. In the first few hours of the assault , Major Pike was grievously injured when a kroot counter charge ran straight into his command squad, major pike would loose an arm as a result and was sent to the rear. Colonel Loveless took personal command of the front line operations and drove his regiment up and over the tau's defense lines the demolition charges finally bringing down vital wall sections and defenses but the price was steep and the regiment had lost most of its operational capability due to an overwhelming amount of wounded. The shattered companies were consolidated and reformed a thick line of defense while the colonel awaited orders and relief from General Clare, help which would not come for another three more days as the entire front had been brutalized by ferocious Tau and kroot defenses and counter attacks. Colonel Loveless met his end when an infiltrator team of stealth suits assassinated him during a small engagement with path finders, the Tau using the loss of leadership and morale sent in a horde of kroot carnivores which racked the lines and further decimated the heavy troops numbers. Major Pike still in the medical bay heard of the assault, the loss of the colonel and immediately assumed command of the regiment, still missing his arm and full of stims he marched the Catachan and Storm trooper companies to the front and ordered the Havens Guard to counter attack the Kroot horde. The charging Calvary out flanked the kroot and rolled up their lines, the brutality of the kroot were matched by the ferocious death worlders of Catachan while the Stormtrooper Company rallied and secured the fractured Imperial lines. With the battle won and all forces committed to battle Major Pike still wounded held the company together long enough to allow for General Claire to send in reinforcements and continue the momentum the 22nd(c) had purchased.

The battle was costly, most of the veteran officers including the colonel were killed, the eight companies of shock troops had been consolidated to four and only two platoons of Catachan remained. The Calvary did their job and suffered only minor casualties while the stormtroopers company suffered only injuries and did not loose a single man. Major Pike was promoted to Colonel by General Clare and fitted with an augment arm just below the arm pit a touch which endeared the Catachans to remember their legendary colonel Strakken Iron hands.

The regiment was ordered to maintain the gateways they had won and soon received reinforcements from the Cadian 86th, Cadian 24th, Cadian 6th Armored and the 376th Catachan Expeditionary force all which had suffered high enough casualties to warrant their dissolution and absorption into other regiments that needed reinforcement. The newly reinforced 22nd(c) now had Battle Tanks, heavy weapon squads and enough Catachans to have two full companies of light troops.

Six weeks later Imperial forces had finally taken the Capitol Hive, the 22nd(c) was sent to rest and heal after the short but brutal campaign. Colonel Pike was given commendations for heroism and his personal actions which lead to the victory, the 22nd(c) were also given battle honors for their colors.

In the next several months the 22nd(c) underwent new training regiments, indoctrination, and resupply. The amalgamation of almost half a dozen regiments made the 22nd(c) the most diverse regiment in General Clares battle group, a benefit that General clare used on several occasions from pacification of human populace under going reeducation following the retreat of the Tau Empire from the system, to clashes with dark elder raiders and the occasional Tau hit and run.

WonderCon and ComicCon

Due to my awesome girlfriend who works in the media world I have professional passes to both WonderCon in SF and ComicCon in San Diego.

I want to do a costume for it and I wanted to go dressed up as a guardsmen. type='text'>Catachan/Death World Commissar

I want to make a gnarly looking death world Commissar.

Any suggestions?

I was thinking of clipping the bolt pistol off of the Cadian Command Sprue arm attach it to a Catachan muscle Arm. Not sure what to do with the melee Arm either clip down the augmetic arm from the Caidan command sprue so that the shoulder pad isnt there.

I figured the great coat would be in tatters and would be sleeveless and torn at the bottom.

Not sure what to do for the head, trim down a cadian tank commanders head to get rid of the personal vox headset?

It would be easier if I knew how to work with green stuff but i havent had the oppratunity to play around with it yet.

New Leman Russ Magnet fix

So with the demolisher you are able to glue in magnets into the Barrel and barrel base which will keep the two snugly together allowing you to use all the barrel variations depending on what you want to do and with the Demolisher cannon, Punisher cannon, Executioner cannon options this will save you some money so you don't have to buy multiple kits for each variant.

With the new Leman Russ kit this option does not exist. The Barrel is not separate from the base which sits inside the hull and is non removable.

The Turret itself comes in two pieces, the top half and the bottom half that latches onto the Tanks hull.

You will notice that on each piece there are 4 small circles on the inside, my guess from when the plastic was ran through the mold. Interestingly enough each piece 4 holes line up exactly as almost a sign from the Emperor himself!

When you go to glue on the magnets you will want to mark which side you will be gluing to the plastic, it sucks when you are working with magnets and the magnets are opposing each other.

Work with each magnet separately and wait for them to dry other wise you will have magnets flying around trying to stick with one another.

Once you have each circle covered with a magnet the two pieces should fit snugly together through the power of the magnets.

The only issue I have come up with thus far is that for the Battle Cannon and the Nova cannon there is a blast shield typical on all Leman Russ editions. There isnt really a way to fix it to the Tank with out gluing it but if I discover a remedy I will make sure to post it here.

Until next time.

New Leman Russ

I got the New Leman Russ kit. I love tank battles, I think the games will be much simpler for me and I will have allot more fun with them. Saving up to purchase a new Leman Russ and Manticore Boxes when the time is right. I am holding off on the new edition of the Hellhound for some strange reason.

Anyone have a tutorial yet on Magnetizing the Manticore or new Leman Russ models so I can use all variants?

In the construction Que I have a last edition Leman Russ and a new edition Leman Russ Demolisher. I had an awesome coupon for 40% off so I took the opportunity. I am going to magnetize the Demolisher to allow for more versatility of the model and get more bang for my buck. Looking at my options as to what Bitz I can interchange into the mix to create a rag tag group of penal soldiers I am going with the Catachan Legs, Cadian Torso. Here is my big dilemma, Do I want to use Cadian Arms and options or use the Catachan arm options?

The look that I am going for are that these criminals have been given used gear left over from dead Guardsmen. Paint scheme is going to be in line with my Regiment fluff. The legs are going to be painted a bright orange to go with a corrections jumpsuit look. The Torso is going to be the mat black armor with cloth portions being the bright orange. Across the chest there will be a red X "spray painted" across designating the soldier as a penal troop. (Because the regiment wont waste precious medical aide on the condemned) On a few torso I am going to model in some battle damage or patches to make it look refurbished.

The heads I am going to use both Cadian Helmets and Catachan heads, to give the units a sense of individuality and the fact not everyone is going to get fully outfitted.

The arm dilemma is the big one for me I might do a mash up of both as some choose to cut down their jumpsuits for armless options while some retain the full set they were given.

Regiment Fluff

I am writing up some fluff for my Imperial Guard Regiment. Inspiration was hard to come by as I had a vision of what I wanted my regiment's personality to be like but I also wanted it to connect to some part of the established continuity of the 40k Universe. I am a very big fan of the Gaunts Ghost series and I very much wanted to put my regiment in that time line but I don't see any mention of Cadian Shock Troops, so I am S.O.L. on that front. On the other side I am very much a fan of the dawn of war games especially Dawn of War 2, not to mention I am currently painting my space marines to be Blood Ravens. What I wanted to do fit in very nicely with that continuity and sort of gave me a creative green light to really shape an environment that would give my models a life of their own. So here is the First Draft of my fluff for my regiment the Cadian 52nd, I still need to detail special characters, Company identity, color schemes and what not. This is more like the 4th draft since I've written several other multiple page fluffs and i just did not like them as I did this one.

52nd Cadian Regiment "The Black Shields"

The 52nd Cadian Regiment was founded during the Tyranid Invasion of sub sector Aurelia where the Astrates Chapter of the Blood Ravens were able to repel the Invasion. The 52nd was formed using the remnants of six Imperial Guard Regiments, most of which were born of Cadia but included a Regiment of Catachan Scouts, Armageddon Steel Legionaries, and a Mechanized Company. The Regiments accolades include the defense of the Angel Gate and the last minute reinforcement of the Blood Ravens at what was the climax of the Campaign to repel the Tyranids. Casualties were extremely high and while the majority of the regiment was spread out amongst the various systems and engaged elsewhere, it was the regiments glory boys of the Kasrkin 8th who were able to cover the Blood Ravens while they delivered the Bio Toxin to the Tyranid Hive Fleet.

Following the battle several of those same Storm Troopers were recruited by the Blood Ravens to becomes Astrates themselves thus forging a strong relationship between the Chapter and the newly Founded Regiment. The Regiment would later go on to assist the Blood Ravens in several battles against the Ruinous Powers in the coming years earning the regiment a reputation amongst high command and their fellow guardsmen.

The "Blackshields" is a bit of an inside joke to many veterans of the 52nd. Cadia trains their soldiers from childhood, which are conscripted into massive formations called white shields. They serve in their units for years until they graduate to the Cadia Shock Troops which are more commonly seen on distant battle fields away from the Eye of Terror. At the height of the Tyranid incursion a Minimortum supply vessel was required to perform an emergency resupply of Guard forces on the various systems in the sector. The Flak and Combat helmets that were delivered were mislabeled and were actually a conscript resupply that was meant for a different sector. The guardsmen who received them painted over the trademark white strips with black paint which would later mark the regiment as the "Black Shields", but do not mistake them for rookies, even the newest recruit is somehow a veteran of the Tyranid Campaign of Sub Sector Aurelia.

Following the two major campaigns High Command gave Imperial military operational command preference to the "Black Shields", giving them almost complete control of operations and mission allocation. The Regiment has become somewhat than an army rather than a single regiment as it numbers in the tens of thousands spread over the many systems in the sector and aboard the fleets that protects it. This issue has come up more than once with high command that the regiment was too strong and had been accused of poaching other regiments specialists and valuable goods which of course the regiment was completely guilty of. High Command remedied this by allocating several Commissar officers to the Regiment to ensure loyalty and that the regiment does not become their own enterprise. This action quelled many of the issues the regiment was having and brought some neutrality back to the Regiments operations as a Guard unit.

Given the Regiments beginnings, its current mission and what is required of them, it has become a very diverse unit of Imperial soldiers. While the main bulk of the forces are still "Cadian" Shock Troops, the Regiment prides itself on its diversity of their origins and the advantages it brings with it. Boasting fierce scouts and skirmishers from the death world of Catachan, Skilled siege troops of Armageddon, Sanctioned Pyskers that patrol the Sector, and a Battalion of Penal Troopers, many of which are hive gangers and deserters. Mechanized units comprising of Valkyrie gunships, an assortment of Leman Russ Battle Tank variants, Hell hounds, Chimera transports, Sentinels, and the pride of the Regiment a Shadow Lord Bane blade make up the armored formations of the Regiment.

Color Schemes of the 52nd Cadian "Black Shields"

The general color scheme adopted by the regiment following the Tyranid Invasion went from the standard Cadian green armor and tan clothes to mat black armor and dark grey-blue clothing. The full black armor was adopted by newly supplied guardsmen trying to cover up the embarrassing white shield insignia painted on their gear. This practice evolved to include all newly issued gear be mat black with a complimenting dark grey-blue BDU. This distinctively separates these troops from other like wise equipped Cadian Shock units. Las weapons are finished in standard pattern colors depending on the originating forge world and special weapons such as flamers, grenade launchers, meltas and plasma guns come stripped bare down to the metal and can later be prepared for what ever the mission or command requires. The storm trooper squads likewise have adopted the same theme of scheme used for their shock brethern, their carapace armor is finished with a mat black and under clothes match the same grey-blue of the standard BDU issued. Penal trropers are issued orange jumpsuits and left over flak armor worn by fallen Black Shield troopers. A red X is painted across the chest of each peice of armor almost as to give the enemy a place to aim. Catachan scouts and skirmishers are allowed to retain their typical battle dress which is nothing more than reinforced trousers and a shirt, sometimes nothing at all. Likewise the Steel legion troops retain their signiture long black leather trenchcoats, bucket helmets, and rebreather masks.

Citidel Paint Flamer

I picked this up today, hopefully it will alow me to paint my scenery and larger peices like my tanks easier and quicker.

Anyone have any experience with this tool? I could adapt that to fill out my fluff. I am thinking of having around 10-15 different companies.

First Company "Insert name" This will be a command Company housing such characters as the regiments Colonel and other specialist.

Second Company...This will be a Veterans build Army with the focus being on highly trained Veterans and storm troopers.

Third-Eighth are just going to be various vanilla army lists with varying point totals and army list load outs.

Ninth Company will be a mechanized infantry company where they will make use of chimera and Valkyries.

Tenth Company will be an Armored Company where I hope to field the good majority of my armor.

Eleventh will be a supply and logistics company, this wont actually exist but will be mentioned.

Just some ideas....let me know what you think.

FYI...I took picutres of my tanks and armor the other night I'll be posting them asap.

Retread

I had an old Chimera that had its inner track wheels that held the tracks in place missing, its been an eye sore and I had come to the conclusion that it couldn't be repaired.

Good news is that I was able to carefully retread the top half of the tracks that were missing its wheels. It was a very careful job and as long as I am careful with it I am confident it will stay in there. Next step is to primer it straight black so I can repaint it and integrate it into active service in the Army.

Next stop on rearming my tanks is to finish up putting threads on my number 3 Leman Russ and find all the annoying tailpipes and misc pieces to put on it.

Once that is done all of my armor is off to painting.

Color Schemes and Fluff

Expanding on my post about veterans I still haven't figured out what sort of Fluff I want my army to be. They are already pretty diverse enough to be a standard combat company/regiment. A few models have been painted in the normal Cadian Scheme but I was thinking of different schemes which would make them more unique.

I want to make a 2 tone Guard scheme using black for armor and grey for the clothing. Skin tone will vary and misc pieces will be uniform with the company/regiment. Aquila's and other symbols will be done in either a silver or gold. Weapons will be mainly black with the details a bolt gun metal color. This color will work for any the planned fluff I have in development.

Now for Fluff of the company/Regiment I wanted to do either a Naval theme, City Fight/Planet Strike, or Special Forces.

The Naval Theme is easy. The Company/Regiment is on board auxiliary infantry used for repelling boardings and carrying out boardings themselves, they are used for on planet escort duty of high ranking officials and ship high command. If things get too rough they can be loaned to local PDF forces or take part in planet sieges. Members of the company/regiment are not raised from among different planets, they are taken from ship crew members who have a talent for combat, various destroyed regiments and other smaller units that get assimilated into the company/regiment.

Modeling wise, they would be armed with shotguns so veterans would be common, lascarbines for close quarter combat maneuvers, and flamers to clear narrow hallways with out destroying the interior of the vessel. Obviously plasma and melta weapons wont be used too much as no ships master wants a bunch of grunts punching holes in his ship. For obvious reasons there cant be tanks in a ship so any fluff regarding them would be based with "On World" activities. I would use Valkyries and other deep strike abilities as desired as well.

I could write some fiction based off of them, the type of stories would be like reading battle reports from a third person perspective or the commentary of the ships master at arms reviewing combat reports.

The special forces using the same color scheme would be sort of a "They don't exist" type of regiment, Top Level clearance sort of stuff. They would have no unit markings just the standard issue equipment. Heavy use of veteran themes and storm troopers. Make use of some commissars for theatrics and have them be a Black Ship detachment which could make good use of some Psycher battle squads.

Modeling would be easy, standard models in dark and oppressing scheme with standard gear with some kit bashing thrown in to give some individuality to its members but at the same time still capturing the "Men in Black" attitude of the force. They could support any matter of troops and vehicle choices.

Fiction could be written in first person or even third person with the target being a squad or platoon or one of its snipers going in and taking care of its black bagging missions.

Its a toss up between the Special Forces and the Naval theme.

I have a ton of old school guard models laying around I can build a whole other smaller army around 500-1000 points worth made up of the old metal Cadians, a Catachan platoon, Steel legion and the very old school stormtroopers with the berets.

Veterans and Psycher Battle Squads

I have a ton of random bits, mostly all Imperial Guard but a few Marine, Ork and Tau bits laying around.

I am going to try and make a veteran squad, to do this I am going to take some of those bits and add them to a normal cadian squad box.

One of my Platoons in my Army is already set up to be veterans fluff wise, it was pretty simple, I threw in the random extra heads from the cadian command box. I then bought a bunch of Heavy Weapon squad backpacks off of ebay. The End result is a platoon all with backpacks, assorted heads. It gives them a real mean and professional soldier look beyond the normal canteen and blade accessories. A few have pistol holsters on their legs and I cut off some of the stocks to make a carbines.

I am thinking of starting a new squad using Marine shoulder pads, Tau shoulder pads, various backpacks, bolt guns etc.

I am looking into creating my first Psycher Battle Squad, but it will be simple. Its a matter of using a commissar as the custodian and the old Pyschers from the previous editions.

What I am looking for are Shotguns. I have yet to see and GW stuff except for the Forge World material but i don't want to have to wait and pay out the ear to get the shotguns.

Company Command Squads

Using the Tactic laid out previously, I have been thinking about how my Command Squads need to be positioned but also how they are outfitted.

1 Officer
1 Vox
3 Weapons

Depending on the role of the Platoon will determine the type of special weapons used. First Platoons blitzkrieg maneuver would need to use something mobile and usable in the first round of the game to allow for the force to move forward and engage the enemy at closer ranges. Since First Platoon will likely be wiped out turn 2-3 I want something that will pound the enemy line of advance. Grenade Launchers would work very well where as Plasma while effective is just too expensive to waste on a suicide unit.

Second Platoon Command could be outfitted with Sniper Rifles since they will be stationary supporting second platoon for the duration of the battle. If I don't use this for second platoon I will most likely form a special weapons squad with the three sniper rifles. Their job will be mostly to pick off Indy characters and low numbered squads from a distance.

Company Command could be updated with a long range weapon like a rocket launcher team since it will most likely remain stationary in the back field for the duration of the battle.

The Core of a Company

Right now I am building a list for a generic Combat Company, which I hope to keep in the 1,ooo point range.

Command Company
1 Officer (Captain)
1 Vox
1 Standard Bearer
1 Special Weapon
1 Guardsman with lasgun

First Platoon
1 Officer (Lieutenant)
1 Vox
1 Standard Bearer
1 Special Weapon
1 Guardsman with lasgun

First Squad
1 Sergeant with Laspistol and Close Combat Weapon
1 Vox Operator
1 Heavy Weapon (Flamer)
7 Guardsman with Lasgun

Second Squad
1 Sergeant with Laspistol and Close Combat Weapon
1 Vox Operator
1 Heavy Weapon (Flamer)
7 Guardsman with Lasgun

Third Squad Squad
1 Sergeant with Laspistol and Close Combat Weapon
1 Vox Operator
1 Heavy Weapon (Flamer)
7 Guardsman with Lasgun

Second Platoon
1 Officer (Lieutenant)
1 Vox
1 Standard Bearer
1 Special Weapon
1 Guardsman with lasgun

First Squad
1 Sergeant with Laspistol and Close Combat Weapon
1 Vox Operator
1 Heavy Weapon Plasma, Meltagun or Grenade Launcher
7 Guardsman with Lasgund Platoon

Second Squad
1 Sergeant with Laspistol and Close Combat Weapon
1 Vox Operator
1 Heavy Weapon Plasma, Meltagun or Grenade Launcher
7 Guardsman with Lasgun

Third Squad
1 Sergeant with Laspistol and Close Combat Weapon
1 Vox Operator
1 Heavy Weapon Plasma, Meltagun, or Grenade Launcher
7 Guardsman with Lasgun

Miscellaneous Support Squads
In addition to these two Platoons they will have a few more support squads attached to them, options is Sniper Squad, Heavy Weapon Squad or Sentinel Squad.

Additional Support Available
Ratling Snipers
Storm trooper Squads
Psycher Battle Squads

Heavy Support Options
Leman Russ Battle Tank (Standard, Demolisher, Vanquisher)
Basilisk
Hell Hound

The Goal/main strategy for this Army is to have First Platoon Advance as forward as possible fast as possible to engage the enemy at close range with the flamers. Second Platoon will give support to First Platoon with long range fire and utilizing its special weapons to do more pin point damage. If the Hell Hound is utilized as Heavy Support it will advance forward with 1st Platoon to go along with the heavy damage capabilities of the squads. Its expected that the first platoon will be lost due to assault phases and being the first targets to come in range. Their job is to give Second and other company assets the ability to gain ground and set up a firing line, while softening up targets at the spearhead of an enemy advance.

Second Platoon will occupy key locations and cover in the backfield to create a firing line for the advancing enemy army. Leman Russ options, snipers and command squads will be held behind second platoons positions to stay out of harms way while providing long range support for first and second platoon.

Other elements such as sentinel squads, storm trooper squads and others will be used to cover enemy flanking and provide reserves for a faltering second platoon or to press a first platoon spearhead via Valkyrie or Chimera with Storm troopers and other support squads such as veterans.

Imperial Guard

I am a huge Guard Fan. I have way too many miniatures, but with the guard you cant have enough troops right?

Like i mentioned in a previous post I am a huge collector, I especially like the character models and I try to give each of my common troops some sort of special touch.

This post will be a few different parts since I have alot to list as I did with my Marine list previously. I do not have an official Army list completely figured out as of yet as I have yet to play with the new codex in anything but a few test turns of combat.

Here is a list of my Armor

3 Leman Russ Battle Tanks (sponsons optional)
1 Leman Russ Vanquisher
1 Leman Russ Demolisher (Old Version)
1 Basilisk
3 Chimera (one of which I need to find some bits for track guards as the inner track wheels are missing)
3 Sentinels (rigged for optional weapons)
1 Bane Blade (multiple variants available)
1 Valkrie
1 Hellhound (old Version)

Its a pretty buff bunch of models half of which I got off of ebay so I have stripped a few of them down for repainting.

My plan is to one day feild them all as a Tank Company in either an Apoclaypse or Planet Strike Game, but I still have alot to learn about rules and several trial and error tries before I get real comfortable with fielding a list of tanks.

So far I usually field a single Russ in my 1k point army with either a chimera or my hellhound in support.

Space Marines

I am going to go into my Space Marine models first, feel free to leave comments as I am more of a collector than a player.

I picked up the Black Reach set when it came out I wanted to start off with a cheap means of starting a Marine Army. I picked up an additional Tactical Squad and Terminator Squad off of Ebay along with an Assault Squad. I've also had a ton of random models from over the years some are scrapped together models made up of random bits.

I am mainly a Guard player so I am in new waters playing Marines.

Here is the complete List thus far.

(1) Space Marine Commander (Black Reach)
(2) 10 Marine Tactical Squads (Black Reach)
(2) 5 Terminator Squads (Black Reach)
(1) 5 Marine Combat Squad (Scratch Models)
(5) 5 Marine Assault Squad
(1) Dreadnought (Black Reach)
(1) Rhino
(1) Scout Sgt Tellion
(1) 1 Old school Terminator with Power Sword and Storm Bolter

I am big on fluff so I am wondering what I want to do with them.
